Job Title: Child Care Attendant                                            FLSA: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Department: Recreation Center                                          Reports to: Rec Center Director

Salary Range: $9.00

General Purpose:

Under the general supervision of The Rec Center Director. This position is responsible for supervision of Recreation Center patron’s children.  This position informs parents of rules and assisting children in adjusting to the environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Greets patrons and children.
  • Responsible for registering children.
  • Informs parents of rules and regulations.
  • Play with children.
  • Making sure surrounding area is clean and safe for children.
  • Cleaning list for shift.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Ability to apply the qualities of tact; poise and friendliness; to work with others; to concentrate against distractions; to remember a variety of items in detail; ability to handle stressful situations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or currently enrolled and expected to graduate within the year. Additional child care courses helpful.
  • Six months’ child care experience.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. Must be flexible.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
