Pay Range: 15.00/hr

General Purpose:
The Janitorial/Kitchen Support Staff is responsible for the general cleaning of the Senior Center. This role ensures a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for staff and visitors. In addition to janitorial duties, the position supports kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and dining area.
Essential Functions:
- Wash, dry and put away all pots, pans and cooking utensils.
- Wash, dry, fold and put away kitchen towel and aprons.
- Assists the cook(s) in cleaning food preparation areas and equipment.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floor daily.
- Mop dining room floor daily.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Janitorial with general cleaning of entire building.
- Must be able to work as a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Dependable.
- Able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
- Well-groomed and willing to follow dress requirements.
- Able to regularly lift up to 20 pounds consistently, occasionally lift over 50 pounds, and to spend long periods of time on your feet.
- Valid Oklahoma State driver's license.
- Successful passing of a required background check.
General Requirements:
- Free of communicable disease.
- Able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health screening that includes TB clearance.
- Current First-Aid certification- Will assist in acquiring
- Food Workers’ License- Will assist in acquiring
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- General understanding of the needs of the elderly
- Willingness to learn
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role also involves the use of hands and arms to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Clear communication and the ability to hear and speak are also necessary.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a restaurant/kitchen environment.
